Welcome to Stank City
'Take A Trip' is my feature grad film. It is a psychedelic, glitchy, surreal, punk, absurdist, nonsensical, yet incredibly story-rich look into the life of a very unlucky demon in a very unfortunate situation. The It, a kinky queer genderqueer Devil and trickster archetype is up against its biggest challenge yet: a lack of psychiatric medication. When it's blown all its money and been dropped by its insurance, The It is sent on a spiralling trip to find the funds it desperately needs.
Stank City (my fictional parody of Vancouver) is hard to be in when one is mentally stable, but what happens when you fly off the rails amongst an apathetic and cruel metropolis? Follow The It as it tries to find enough cash before it truly loses its mind once and for all to the city of slime!
About the Animator
I am a grunge alternative queer artist who works with themes of disgust, taboo, culture, gender, nostalgia, poverty, addiction, mental illness, and general alternative existence under colonial capitalist rule. I'm inspired by works from the 90s, like Ren and Stimpy or Beavis and Butthead. I love crude animations from the 2000s and 2010s like Happy Tree Friends, Lammas With Hats, or any variety of Newgrounds classics. I like modern animations like Smiling Friends, Bojack Horseman, or Common Side Effects; and I deeply appreciate the new era of adult animation we are witnessing within the past year or two. Especially as use of AI rises, I pride myself in being apart of the new movement of 'ignorant' animation.
Animation and the stories that are possible within the medium have been a life long passion of mine along side my love of immersion. I aim to represent my tastes, experiences, and views through my multidimensional body of work.
